SOLD AUSTRIAN WW1 M1907 ROTH STEYR PISTOL……EARLY 1910 PRODUCTION WITH RARE “u” MARKING

In 97% condition we have an original 1910 dated and proofed very early production M1907 Roth Steyr Pistol. This also has a very interesting U looking mark above the proof that I have not been able to determine the meaning of.  It may indicate naval use but I am not certain.  The pistol is all matching with an excellent bore.  This is a very top example of one of these pistols, much cleaner than you will usually see.  This is a great example of one of the best known and most distinctive looking pistols of WW1.  There have been a lot written and in the news about the Alpine war between the Austrians and the Italians of late and these pistols certainly were employed on that battle front.
