SOLD – WELL DOCUMENTED COLT MODEL 1911 GOVERMENT MODEL PISTOL….1913 ABERCROMBIE & FITCH…USED IN WW1

In 95% original condition, with beautiful fire blue still on the small parts, we have a very interesting very early Colt Government model 1911 Pistol. This pistol was shipped to the Legendary New York Firm Abercrombie & Fitch in September of 1913.  Somehow this pistol was carried in WW1 by Lt Harold Aarons of Michigan, as attested to by a letter from children.  His father was a doctor, so perhaps it was his pistol that was handed down to the son as he went off to fight the Huns.  Along with the pistol is a photograph, a wonderful letter from the family and a Colt Factory letter as well.  Very early Commercially sold Colt pistols in this condition are not easy to find as the finish is very fragile and dulls easily.    It does not look to have been disturbed to much after its service in WW1 and seems to have been a cherished heirloom.  This is a very attractive pistol with a great history still attached.
