In 97% original very sharp extremely attractive condition, we have a 1916 production Springfield Armory M1911 Service Pistol. This is a 100% factory original completely orthodox textbook example, to include the Springfield Armory made Magazine. All small parts are correctly marked with the “s“ as they are supposed to be. This pistol was produced in the final months of 1916 probably in the fall of that year. The bore is mint. Springfield Armory made exactly 25,767 pistols and fewer than 2,000 of this late variant were produced. This is an extremely rare and highly sought after example of the US Army service pistol as they were made at the Armory. Springfield Pistols are very tough to locate this nice looking, the finish was different than on the Colt made examples it is duller and of a more blue-gray color. Because of this most of these pistols don’t age very well but this example really pops!
