In very good+++ condition,all matching down to the screws, we have a very scarce early production 1937 dated S/243 code (Mauser Borsigwalde) made K98k Mauser Service Rifle. The rifle is all matching with an excellent bore and still has the original sling it was vet brought back with. The cartouches on the honey brown walnut stock are very clear and crisp. The blue on the metal shows use during the war, giving the rifle a very romantic salty look the bore is excellent. You just have to ask yourself what history did this rifle see…did it invade Poland? France? was it at D-Day??? The date/code combination of this rifle is a very difficult one to locate and any serious collector of 98k’s knows what a real find this rifle is. This is very much an example of one of those rare sought after codes that is irresistible to own in this solid condition. Mauser Borsigwalde was the Second Mauser Plant and was located in a suburb of Berlin and their rifles are highly sought out by collectors.
