In excellent all matching condition, we have a very sharp example of a Mauser Borsigwalde Assembled bcd/ar 42 dual code K98k Mauser Service Rifle. This is one of the most sought after hard to locate manufacturer codes for collectors to obtain and they are rarely seen and avidly sought after. The rifle is a textbook example and the bore is mint. The gun is still with the original sling as well. Mauser Borsigwalde made rifles from the period are highly interesting to collectors because of some unusual features that they exhibit, such as the use of dual codes on some of the production, the use of the flat buttplate stock long after the upgrade to the cupped buttplate (you will notice the 1942 date on this stock) and the lack of external stock markings early into 1942 production. This is an extremely attractive example with the bright rich blue that you often see on the Mauser Borsigwalde production. This is truly a rifle that any serious 98k collector will find very appealing.
