In 95% very nice condition, we have a very scarce 1921 Production British Military Issued Colt Model 1903 Pocket Hammerless .32 auto Pistol. The pistol has the Commercial London Import proofs and it is British Military ⇑ Broad arrow property marked and with Enfield acceptance marks as well. This is one of around 3300 that were purchased by the British Military for use during the Irish Troubles in 1921. More importantly when WW2 began in 1939 these pistols were issued to the RAF and the clandestine Special Operations Executive for use by agents in occupied Europe. The clandestine use of these pistols in WW2 is highly significant; these were the only small reliable pistols on hand when the SOE began sending agents and arms to resistance organizations throughout Nazi Occupied Europe. . British Military proofed 1903 Colts are nearly impossible to locate and rarely come up for sale. This is a Significant Find for the serious Colt collector but it is also a very important artifact of the Clandestine and Special Operations undertaken by many brave souls under the odious heel of the Nazi regime and constant threat of the SD and Gestapo.
