Description

Well this is one of those things that you will only ever see come into the office because we are in the Washington DC area.  This is one of a pair of very rare WW2 US Army issued 5 inch .38 S&W victory model revolvers that were issued to the US Army Corps of Engineers. As you know, almost all of the US issued Victory Models were in .38 special but the army did issue some of the .38 S&W caliber as well.  What makes these examples almost unique is that  are marked US-CE-C  Which is the property mark of the Corps. The cherry on top of all that rarity  is that fact they we have the original bills of sales where they were surplussed out of the Army and sold to a Washington DC Government Employee gun club back in 1965.  Today, it is almost impossible to imagine that they actually had gun clubs in Washington DC;  I guess they still do have gun clubs in DC but today we call them Thug drug crews and gangs.  If you collect US WW2 martial pistols or even Victory models I seriously doubt that you will every run across one of these again.
