In 97% original condition with 100% factory original parts including the barrel, we have a significant early production US Army issued Colt model 1911 Pistol. This pistol was shipped from Colt’s on November 23, 1912 to the Benicia Arsenal in California. This example is totally factory original which is exceptional for such an early Production Martial 1911. These early pistols were very heavily used in training and it would have seen combat right on up through WW2. When you think about it it makes it even more miraculous that it has survived so well over the years.
This pistol is completely original to include the early keyhole mag and “H” front of the hood marked barrel. You will also notice the circled Colt pony on the rear of the slide, the rounded rear sight the short hammer and the early high polish finish that was used on these pistols at the time. The bore is excellent as well. This is a wonderful example of a very early US Army Colt 1911 with a lot of condition and complete originality and is a must have example for any serious Colt 1911 enthusiast.
