In 98% minty condition all matching down to the grips (which often do not)  we have an early production US NAVY issued S&W Victory Model Revolver in .38 Special caliber.  These early Navy revolvers were engraved Property of US Navy and painted red, hence the term “RED LETTER NAVY“.  This is the classic 4 inch barrel variant.   This is the most sought after variant of the Victory model by collectors
