In Excellent condition, all matching down to the screws, we have a non-import marked very scarce and rarely seen 1937 Mauser Portuguese Model 937-A Service Rifle. This rifle is nearly identical to a straight up German Army Issue K98k Rifle with the exception of modified (improved) sights and an extra set of sling attachments. The large fixed front sight protector is the giveaway that this is a Portuguese Mauser. This rifle comes with the unusual muzzle cover as well. These rifles are waffenamted and largely identical to a standard pre-war K98k. Because of this they are extremely desirable must have rifles for the serious Mauser 98k collector. While we do turn up several of the 1941 version of this rifle every year, the earlier 1937 model is not easy to find matching and nice. Hansen brought a few thousand into the states in the 1990’s but they were well worn rarely matching and import marked. Finding a sharp example of the Mauser Model 937-A K98k variation has always been a challenge.
