SOLD GERMAN 1937 S/243 MAUSER BORSIGWALDE K98k RIFLE……LEGIT FIELD LEVEL REPAIR & MATCHING…..VERY INTERESTING 98K!

This is an extremely fascinating K98k rifle. We have a scarce early 1937 S/243 coded Mauser Borsigwalde manufactured K98k Service Rifle.  This was a rifle that has seen considerable action; the metal is all matching down to the screws but the stock to include the butt plate and bayonet lug, were replaced, likely at by a field workshop waffenmeisterei unit with a very rare K date Sauer stock, and also the front sight was grooved to allow for a sight hood.  Clearly during the service life of the rifle the stock was damaged beyond repair and was replaced and the front sight was upgraded.  This type of work would have been performed at the field level.  This very interesting rifle that has a great look to it and it really speaks to you, so much in fact it was in my own personal collection for decades as the only non completely matching rifle I owned, it just really has that been there done that look to it.  I think a lot of you will really appreciate this rifle for what it is.
