SOLD COLT MODEL 1911 U.S. ARMY……..1918 BLACK ARMY……”AA” MARKED….Augusta Arsenal REWORK…..1960’S DCM SALE

In 90% arsenal rebuilt Condition, we have a 1918 production Colt Model 1911 U.S. Army that was post WW2 refurbished at Augusta Arsenal and bears the “AA” marking.  Interestingly they did not parkerize this pistol but left in the the original distinctive black oxide finish that gave the name Black Army to these late WW1 pistols.  This pistol was sold through the DCM in the very early 1960’s when a large number of these pistols were surplussed out of the Government Stores and sold through the NRA.  every serious 1911 collector should have an example of this type of pistol in their collection. This pistol has a great trigger and it probably shoots as good as anything you could buy today at 4 times the price.  This is a nice salty gun with a lot of character and it really feels great in your hand.
