sold US S&W US NAVY MARKED VICTORY MODEL REVOLVER……38 SPEC……VERY RARE NAVAL YARD MARE ISLAND MARKED

In 96% condition, we have a US Navy Marked S&W Victory Model Revolver in the standard 4 inch barrel 38 Special configuration.  This Navy issued revolver also has the very rare additional marking N.Y.M.I.379 indicating that it was issued at the large Mare Island Naval Ship Yard in California.  These revolvers were used for the Shore Patrol and Base security.    This is a very rare and desirable marking for US Navy and Smith Victory collectors alike.  The revolver is all matching except for the grips and they are rarely ever matching on these weapons.  As there were known Japanese Spies in the area, and these revolvers played a vital role in keeping California safe………..
