SOLD VERY SCARCE GERMAN WW1 M17 STIELHANDGRANATE….STICK HAND GRENADE

In very good plus condition we have a very rare and seldom seen German WW1 Issue Stielhandgrante M17.  This is the WW1 version of the legendary German stick grenade and while there are plenty of the WW2 M24 variation available for collectors you just never see the earlier WW1 variation.  This was the final and largely perfected model for WW1 use, the major improvement was that the arming string was concealed under a screw off cap in the base of the handle.  An easy way to tell this from the WW2 model is that it has a larger head and there is an integral belt hook attached to it.  This grenade was one of the main assault tools of the very famous Stormtroopers who led those lighting fast and deadly brutal trench attacks on allied forces.  This is a great relic from the great war!
