In excellent minty condition we have a very clean well marked all matching byf43 coded, late 1943 production Mauser Oberndorf made K98k Service Rifle. This rifle is factory original in all respects and is completely matching. It came out of the woodwork and was a WW2 vet bring back. It has not been duffle cut and the bore is mint. the stock is very crisply cartouched and this is one of the cleanest mid war 98k’s that we have had in a long time, and I can assure you that I would have no problem adding this one to my own collection. This still has the used but not abused very well marked cgu43 sling which is a big plus.
Finding a mint matching 98k rifle is much harder than finding a nice all matching Luger, many were brought back after the war but most of those rifles were turned into more useful deer rifles, by modifying or converting into sporting rifles. Today, finding a clean example such as this is not an easy thing to do as most have been in collections for years and rarely surface.
