In excellent condition, we have an extremely rare and seldom seen WW2 vet brought back FN Model 1930 Greek Contract Service Rifle in 8mm. This rifle is 100% factory original and all matching with an excellent bore. Greece adopted this rifle in 1937 as their standard service rifle and were in the process of re-arming when war broke out. The markings on the stock are exceptionally crisp to include the national crest on the left butt stock and on top of the wrist of the rifle there is a cartouche of St George riding a horse. This rifle is in the “H” (Eta) block which was completed and shipped in early 1940, just after the outbreak of the war. Some rifles in this serial range were actually captured at the FN plant, but this rifle was likely sent to Greece. In May of 1941 Greece was overrun by the Axis forces and this rifle was captured or surrendered to the Germans and reissued by them and subsequently brought to the States as a war trophy. These rifles are extremely scarce to locate in any collectible condition, they were almost all used up in the war and are rarely seen.
