SOLD 6.35mm (.25 acp) ORTGIES PISTOL…….NEW IN BOX

In absolutely new in the box condition, we have a Deutsche Werk Erfurt manufactured Ortgies Patent Pistol in 6.35mm (.25 auto).  The Ortgies Pistol was a highly regarded commercial pistol during its brief time on the market. basically from 1920-24 although they were in production earlier than that.  The period of hyperinflation in  Germany in the early 1920’s spelled the demise of this company and production ended after a few short years.  They are often seen here in the States because large numbers were dumped on the American market by importers who bought them below cost from the manufacturer at less than a dollar a copy.  They are well made pistols and this is as pristine of a specimen as you will find.  There has never  been much collector interest in these pistols until recently, they are certainly attracting a lot of attention these days among collectors.  This is certainly a fine example of this under appreciated but technically important pistol.,
