In mint sharp condition, we have a top example of a Kokura Arsenal made 1st Series Type 44 Cavalry Carbine. This is a later production example with the third type of Bayonet housing, which was the perfected variation. This rifle has stunning blue and straw, and the cartouches on the stock are clear and crisp. Type 44 carbines this sharp are hard to locate, the ones that went to China are all used up and most of the other ones were looted out of the Arsenals of Japan and have ground Imperial Crests. This is a really nice looking example of this very distinctive looking Japanese Carbine.
