This is an original 94% condition very early production Remington Rand 1911a1 Pistol. The serial number 916607 puts it in the November,1942 first month of production. This is pistol number 202 of only 255 pistols produced that initial Nov, 1942 month of production (916405-916659). As far as we are aware, this is the earliest known surviving pistol. You will of course note the use of the very rare first type Slide Logo with New York spelled out. This pistol has the well known features commonly encountered early production Rem Rands such as the upside down ordnance stamp, the milled trigger, the Keyes no ring grips and the dulite sandblasted blue finish. As you can certainly conclude for yourself this is a unique opportunity to claim ownership of one of the rarest and perhaps the earliest surviving Remington Rand pistol made for WW2.
