In 99% mint new in box condition with the original manual and cleaning rod, we have a mint new US Property marked and pin punch proofed Colt 1908 Pocket Hammerless .380 auto. This pistol is one of 50 that were sent to the US Navy in Norfolk Virginia on April 29, 1944. Only approximately 1000 of these pistols were sent to the Navy and they are nearly impossible to find. These navy pistols went primarily to Naval Intelligence but they were available to Marine Corps Generals and Navy Admirals upon request. Most of the US Navy pistols were later returned to Colt and modified with the “M” added to the serial number but this is an early gun that was never upgraded making it even more rare.
These pistols are extremely rare, only 3,113 of these pistols were ever issued by the Government and they are rarely ever encountered in this pristine state.
