In good condition we have an early war 1943 production US Property marked Remington Model 11 Riot gun. This is the early variant with the checkered wood and the game scene on the receiver. In and of it’s self not a particularly unusual WW2 artifact except This weapon was actually a part of the Manhattan Project and was actually used in the protection and security of the Y-12 Installation at Oak Ridge Tennessee which produced the enriched uranium for “Little Boy” the bomb dropped on Hiroshima. The shotgun is identified by a WW2 metal id tag and the actual 1966 bill of sale when it was surplussed and sold at Oak Ridge. This is an incredible piece of WW2 history and if you are interested in probably one of the most important shotguns that guarded a plant during WW2 I can think of no more important place to be guarded.
