In excellent condition, all matching down to the dust cover, we have a very late production Nagoya 2nd Series Arisaka Type 44 Carbine. This carbine is so late that it is 116 numbers below the highest published serial number. As such, this places this on a higher level of desirability than your typical third variation Type 44. Another interesting aspect of this piece is that the last 2,000 or so made were of all blued parts. If you are an advanced Japanese rifle collector or you are looking for just one outstanding example this would be a great piece to own. One of the most distinctive looking of the Japanese Military long arms of the 20th century, these carbines were extensively used in China by the cavalry and mounted infantry, so much were used long and hard. Finding nice examples has always been a challenge.
