In 95% nice condition, we have a German WW1 DWM 1918/1920 “DOUBLE DATE” Lange P.08 Luger Pistol, commonly referred to as the “Artillery Luger”. This is all matching except the magazine and comes with an original 1917 dated and maker marked holster, with a loading tool and a reproduction cleaning rod. The bore is decent but by no means is it mint. The Long P.08 with its 8 inch barrel was often employed in the same tactical roles as the sub-machine gun in WW2, they were used to protect machine gun nests, artillery and also used in the assault role with the storm troopers. This a very presentable example.
These double date pistols were dated 1920 to indicate that they remained in service with the Weimar era German Army in the Post WWI era right through to 1945. During WWII, these Long Lugers were widely issued to motorcycle units where they would be more useful than a regular side arm. This is priced to move quickly and we think a lot of our clients will see this as a very good buy.
