In very good condition, we have an All Matching, Non Import , Non Finnish marked Soviet Red Army March, 1941 Production, Tula Factory No.314 NKV made SVT-40 Tokarev Semi-automatic Service Rifle. The bore is excellent and everything is factory original matching except for the magazine. This rifle was a WW2 vet bring back so it was certainly a German Captured and reissued weapon. The SVT-40 came into service in Late 1940 as a slight upgrade on the SVT-38. The Major innovation being that it was lighter than its predecessor and more nimble to handle. The design was highly successful, in fact the SVT-40 Rifle was not only praised by the Soviet Soldier, it was one of the most prized rifles in the German Army. The SVT-40 was THE German Army semi-auto rifle right through 1943 it is in fact often seen in Photos of Germans on all fronts.. This is an extremely rare find in that it is not an import, it is all matching and it was not a Finnish captured rifle with the SA marking. This rifle was almost certainly captured during the opening days of Operation Barbarossa and would have been immediately re-issued. It would not bear any German markings unless it was sent to a depot for repair. Soviet Weaponry at the outbreak of WW2 was un-questionably some of the most innovative and advanced of the day; along with the U.S. Army they were rapidly converting to a semi auto service rifle just prior to the outbreak of war.
