SOLD EARLY 1937 S/42 CODE MAUSER OBERNDORF MADE K98k SERVICE RIFLE……. ALL MATCHING………EXCELLENT EXAMPLE!!!

In excellent very sharp condition, all matching down to the screws we have an early 1937 dated Mauser Oberndorf manufactured S/42 Code K98k German WW2 Service rifle.  The bore is excellent.  This is the classic, standard early war configuration with the solid Walnut stock, the milled bands and the flat butt plate.  The stock cartouches are clearly visible and easy to read.  This is pretty much the poster child for a pre WW2 98k production rifle as manufactured by the primary contractor, Mauser.  1937 guns are very interesting because it the year the markings transitioned from the Wiemar era droop eagle proofs to the Nazi eagle proofs.   was If you want just one really nice 98k rifle then this will fit the bill well, these early guns are very tough to find all matching and this is a  nice looking rifle that certainly saw some combat during the war. Finding an early 98K rifle this sharp and matching is extremely challenging, most that were brought back were “sporterized” into deer hunting rifles by the returning vets.  This is a real find, they just are getting harder and harder to find this nice and early!
