In 97% condition, all matching including the magazine, we have an extremely rare (200) 1937 Mauser Banner Dutch Navy Luger Pistol. The pistol is all matching to include one factory numbered magazine and is one of only 200 Mauser Banner Dutch issue pistols that were obtained in 1937. The total contract production for these pistols was only 525 prior to the final order in 1940 of 1000 pistols which were not delivered due to war. While the Dutch army preferred the 1906 grip safety variant of the Luger, the Dutch navy went with the more updated 1908 model. Other than the obvious Dutch “Rust” safety marking they are standard Mauser Banner Lugers.
To find a Dutch Navy Banner in this high state of originality and preservation is exceptional. These pistols were primarily issued to the Officers of the Dutch Marines and many were sent to the far east. Unlike most Dutch Lugers that we see this gun has not been arsenal reworked and is still in Factory original condition. This is an important and rare Dutch Naval Pistol and a highly sought after Luger variant.
