WALTHER “SPORTMODELL” .22LR TRAINING RIFLE…..NAZI “SA” STURMABTEILUNG UNIT MARKED….MINTY!

In excellent very crisp condition, we have a Nazi SA unit marked early type Walther “Sportmodell” .22lr Training Rifle.  This is not to be confused with the Deutsches Sportmodell 34 (DSM34)……the Walther Sportmodell is an earlier model, a higher grade more expensive rifle that was produced simultaneously with the DSM34.  Like the DSM, these rifles were purchased by SA units and other Government Agencies such as the Police for training use.  If you could afford it, you would opt for this rifle over the DSM as its a better made and better finished rifle.  This is a top example and still has the sling and the impossible to find cleaning rod.  Certainly one of the most desirable of the Pre-WW2  training rifles used to teach marksmanship to Hitlers rapidly expanding Army. The SA unit markings make this an extremely desirable piece.
