In 97% very sharp condition, we have an extremely rare Italian Navy issued Pistola Modello 1913 “Brixia”. The Brixia pistol was a top to bottom complete upgrade to the earlier Model 1910 Glisenti. Its a completely different pistol in all respects, not one piece will interchange including the magazine. The pistol is a vast improvement, its a much more durable and improved design. The Regina Marina ordered 5,000 of these pistols in 1913-1914 and that was the extent of the production run with an additional few hundred others made for the civilian market. There were at least 33,000 Model 1910 Glisenti Pistols made so they are much more commonly encountered which I would say is seldom today. If we rarely see a Glisenti you can imagine how much rarer a Brixia pistol is. They just seldom ever turn up.
This pistol is from the collection of the renowned actor James Earl Jones, who has been an avid firearms collector most of his life. It includes an actual signed letter from him authenticating it as part of his extensive collection of military firearms.
