SOLD INLAND M1A1 PARATROOPER CARBINE 5-44 LATE PRODUCTION TYPE II IMMEDIATE POST WAR UPGRADE…..NICE!

In mint condition we have a May, 1944 production Inland made M1A1 Paratrooper Carbine. This carbine was likely an immediate post war upgrade.  There are no rebuild cartouches on the stock and the original ordnance cartouche is still present on the right side of the pistol grip.  This is a factory original M1A1 carbine that was probably upgraded with the bayonet lug and safety and reparked, probably in the immediate post war period and very likely at the FN plant in Belgium where much of this work was done at the conclusion of hostilities.  We say that because there are no rework or re-inspection cartouches on this piece which you see on carbines that were overhauled at one of the arsenals in the states. The bore is mint and the rifle does not appear to have been little used after the rework  .  This is a great example of a type II paratrooper carbine in post war configuration.  These rifles were in US service well into the Vietnam War and this is great example.  If you are looking for an example of an M1A1 Carbine for your collection an don’t want to pay a price that is rapidly approaching 10k this is a great choice.
