SOLD UNUSUAL WALTHER ac44 P.38 PISTOL WITH RARE FN FRAME…..BRITISH WW2 CAPTURE WITH 1953 EXPORT PROOFS

This is quite an unusual and very interesting P.38.  We have in 96% condition, a scarce Walther made ac44 P.38 manufactured with an FN produced frame that was captured and brought back to England during WW2 and in 1953 was exported to the states which is a very rare occurrence indeed.  The pistol is a textbook completely matching example with a mint decent bore and  of course the FN Belgium made 140 proofed frame.  Apparently this was a British WW2 vet bringback or more likely a sneakback, but in 1953 it was sent packing out of the Birmingham proof house to the U.S. as it is slathered in British Birmingham export proof markings which date from 1953.  There are a lot of serious P.38 collectors that will find this piece too fascinating not to have in there collection.
