IN 98% VERY CRISP CONDITION, WE HAVE A VERY SIGNIFICANT FIND THAT HAS JUST COME ONTO THE COLLECTING MARKET. THIS IS A PRE WAR COLT NATIONAL MATCH PISTOL THAT WAS APPARENTLY ACCORDING TO MULLIN AND A COLT FACTORY LETTER THE VERY LAST PISTOL SHIPPED OUT BY COLTS PRIOR TO THE OUTBREAK OF WW2. AS YOU MAY KNOW, THE BRITISH BOUGHT EVERY MAN KILLING COLT IN THE FACTORY SOME MONTHS BEFORE AND THIS PISTOL WAS SOLD VERY LATE IN 1940 MAKIING IT OF EXTREME HISTORICAL INTEREST AMONGST COLT COLLECTORS.
THE BORE IS MINT AND THE PISTOL IS 100% CORRECT WITH THE CORRECT MATCHING SLIDE, PROPERLY MARKED BARREL AND THE SCHWARTZ SAFETY. IT ALSO HAS THE WIDE FRONT SIGHT AS WELL. THE CONDITON IS EXCELLENT WITH JUST SOME SCRATCHING ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE SLIDE. FOR ITS AGE, THE PISTOL IS IN EXCEPTIONALY NICE CONDITON. THIS PISTOL WAS SHIPPED BY COLTS ON OCTOBER 23, 1940 TO ANDREW HARRIS INC. IN PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND. THESE PISTOLS ARE VERY RARE IT IS ESTIMATED THAT BETWEEN 1000-3000 WERE EVER MADE AND THE FIGURE IS PROBABLY CLOSER TO 1000 MAKING IT AS RARE AND DESIRABLE AS ANY PRE WAR BLUED MILITARY 1911A1. THIS IS A VERY RARE AND UNIQUE CHANCE TO OWN ONE OF THE LAST OF THESE PISTOLS THAT WERE EVER MADE.
