RARE WIEMAR/NAZI POLICE “RED 9” CHOPPED BROOMHANDLE PISTOL……PRUSSIAN CITY POLICE GUMBINNEN DISTRICT….MINT!

In 97% very sharp all matching condition we have a scarce Mauser C96 chopped Red 9 Mauser Broomhandle Pistol issued to the  Wiemar/Nazi Police.  This pistol is marked on the front grip strap that it was issued to the Schutzpolizei (City Police) of the Gumbinnen District. This is a fairly rare Wiemar era police marking that is seldom seen.  Pursuant to the terms of the treaty of Versailles These pistols has to have the adjustable sights removed and the barrels reduced in length.  These neutered pistols were issued to the Police units of the German States and of course they went into the Army and the SS at the outbreak of war.  These pistols are seldom encountered this nice and this is a real find for the German Police pistol collector.
