ALONG WITH THE ORIGINAL VET NAMED BOYT 43 M3 SHOULDER HOLSTER. THIS GUN IS CORRECT IN EVERY RESPECT AND HAS THE ORIGNAL 7 MARKED COLT P PROOFED BARREL. THIS IS A TEXTBOOK EXAMPLE OF AN EARLY 1944 PRODCTION COLT. IT LOOKS LIKE IT WAS USED SOME BUT NOT ABUSED. GUNS LIKE THIS ARE THE INVESTORS GOLD STANDARD. WW2 1911’S ARE VERY HARD TO FIND THIS NICE. THIS IS A REALLY TOP RIG BECAUSE IT WAS CARRIED BY TECHNICAL SGT WALTER U BORNEMAN FROM SARATOGA, VA. HE WAS THE FLIGHT ENGINEER AND TOP TURRET GUNNER ON A B24 LIBERATOR OF THE 450TH BOMBARDMENT GROUP AND FLEW MANY MISSIONS FROM ITALY. HE WAS ALSO AWARDED THE AIR MEDAL.
