SOLD ULTRA RARE GEW 98b SNIPER RIFLE…… EAGLE Mg10 / EAGLE 37 REBUILD……MATCHING….SS SNIPER RIFLE

This is an extremely rare and seldom seen double rebuild Gew 98b sniper rifle. The rifle is rebuilt as matching and is all matching with the exception of the stock screws which may not have mattered on the rebuild.   The rifle bears the Nazi Magdeburg Depot “Eagle Mg10 rebuild cartouche and the receiver bears the eagle 37 inspection mark as well.    The optics on the 4 power Kahles scope are clear and the rifle appears to be sighted in.  The bore is decent.  These Wiemar/Nazi Gew 98 Sniper rifle reworks are well known but seldom seen.  They are thought to have been updated and put back into service in the very early part of WW2 and there are many pictures of them being used by SS units in Russia.  While the German Army at this time was well supplied with standard 98k sniper rifles the Waffen SS was not so well armed and had to field a variety of Sniper rifles that they could scrounge up.  This rifle does have a professionally repaired crack at the wrist but otherwise is in decent shape.  These rifles are extremely rare and seldom encountered and the rebuild and inspection stamps on this rifle really add to the desirability.
