Description
In antique excellent condition we have a real piece of local civil war History, a Type II Maynard Federal Cavalry carbine. Â This rifle was found many many years ago wrapped up in an old wool blanket in an old barn near Strasburg, VA. Â It is thought that is was hidden by a Confederate cavalryman returning from the war. Â The gun is in fine shape the bore is excellent but has been shot some, clearly the gun has seen some combat use but was stored away intact. Â The Maynard was considered to be the most accurate of the Civil War era cavalry carbines and was highly regarded on both sides of the conflict. Â Â This is a great Shenandoah Valley Civil War piece. Pre98 Antique as well.
