Description

This is an awesome piece of World War One!  On many levels this is one of the most interesting complete intact  WW1 Colt 1911 rigs, exactly as it just came out of the woodwork from the estate of the granddaughter of the officer who carried in in WW1.    The pistol which is in 96% condition was shipped to the Quartermaster Corps, State of New Jersey on June 12, 1914.  This Pistol was used in the New Jersey State Militia which became the National Guard in 1916.  In 1917 the Guard was Federalized into the US Army and became part of the very Famous 29th Division, known as the Blue and Gray Division.  Aside from the mint pistol, the rig is quite exceptional.  We have a nice Mills made 1916 dated pistol belt and an Eagle snap mag pouch in the Green shade of Khaki.  both spare lanyard loop  mags are still with the original 1918 dated ammo as well as a Carlisle pouch.  The best part is an early RIA 1913 dated Trials holster model 1912.  This is the early model with the internal built up leather welt that was cut to remove the corner. This later became known as the model 1912 Swivel holster.  These items are all in exceptional condition. All of these items are marked B108 which probably refers to gun no 108 of company B.  This is a fantastic Colt, still in the Original WW1 context.
